WANASEA project represented by Stephane Lagrée of the University of Nantes, France participates on the CPSS.
What is the CPSS ?
As an advisory committee, the CPSS contributes to the scientific coordination and supports the planning of the representative office. It is a place of dialogue with the scientific partners, which is supposed to provide advices to inform the scientific and partnership policy of the IRD in Vietnam, including actions related to capacity building and innovation.
The CPSS thus contributes actively to the definition of the plans and action of the representation.
It is also a place where requests for partnership or coordination, from Vietnamese as well as French partners, and the offer of IRD research units are analysed in the light of the research and development issues of Vietnam, regional and global issues and the overall policy of IRD in the world.
How is it composed ?
The CPSS is composed of a number of Vietnamese and international experts, coming from various institutions present in the country, together with IRD researchers and members of the headquarters of IRD in France. Some have an history of collaboration with IRD, some even belong to associated research teams or joint laboratories, some are new to this partnership. They are all chosen on the basis of their scientific excellence and intimate knowledge of contemporary Vietnam’s research and development issues.
How will it work ?
The committee is supposed to meet twice a year (for one day) and produce, on these occasions, a set of recommendations (on partnership, priority subjects, possible projects, and perspectives) that are then summarised by the representative in a roadmap. The roadmap is transmitted to the IRD Scientific Council and the four Scientific Departments and used as the basis of the scientific policy of the representation.
co-organized by the Vietnamese Government, IRD, UNESCO, ICISE, CERN and other institutions.

The cluster meetings are part of EACEA’s monitoring strategy. The main purpose of this type of meetings is to give HEIs from the Partner Country an opportunity to synergise, create contacts and network in order to maximise the impact of the CBHE action in the country. Considering that the first generation of 2015 projects is already over, during this cluster meeting will address the impact of E+ CBHE action in Thailand (both at the institutional and national level) focusing on what has been achieved so far under CBHE projects and what is expected to be achieved during the upcoming years, to what extent these projects are influencing Thailand’s practices in terms of modernization, accessibility and internationalization of HE.
At the same time, this meeting is also an opportunity to discuss the various aspects related to the participation in these kind of projects. Moreover, it will be an opportunity for all the participants to ask any questions that they have to EACEA.
The Consortium agreement, the implementation process and administrative procedures will be discussed of all partner institutions
