Since January 2019, The French Development Agency (AFD) has become a new Associate Partner of WANASEA Project. With the participation of this high reputation non-academic stakeholder, WANASEA will be able to enhance some work packages (W3 and WP4) and HEI curriculum in particular, and to help reaching the objective of WANASEA project in general.

Spring 2018, IRD and UN decided to jointly co-finance the WANASEA project. The financial support is aimed at expanding the selection of AWP trainees in Myanmar and Laos, strengthening academic and non-academic networking and the post 2020 sustainability of the WANASEA project.

On 19th January 2018, AUF (as Associate Partner) and GASS have signed a partnership agreement for the period 2018-2020 as part of the innovative project: “Capacity building in the field of higher education on a unifying theme: water and associated natural resources”.
Supported Actions: Financial support for three internships in Cambodia and Vietnam (in link with Work Package 2); Financial support to select 8 additional trainees per year – outside the WANASEA consortium – to attend the AWP (Work Package 4).
